SERG Hosts a Healthy Cooking Class for Teens for Healthy Youth • 03/2020

March 2020

Healthy Cooking Night was an interactive healthy cooking class hosted by SERG of Hilton Head Island exclusively for Teens for Healthy Youth (THY) of Hilton Head Island High School. The event was held at SERG Kitchen on Hilton Head Island. The purpose of the class was to promote healthy eating behaviors by teaching students how to prepare nutritious recipes. Andy Borgmeier, a SERG Chef, showed Teens for Healthy Youth how to make homemade hummus, homemade breakfast granola, grilled chicken breast with tricolor couscous, and lemon thyme veloute with julienned vegetables. SERG generously donated the ingredients. THY Hilton Head plans to work remotely during COVID-19 to develop additional projects that promote positive teen health.
