Success Story Teens for Healthy Youth Promotes April National Alcohol Awareness Month
During Alcohol Awareness Month and prom season Teens for Healthy Youth (THY) members educated their peers on the dangers and risks of teen alcohol use. THY members at May River High School created a bulletin board to encourage their peers to make healthy and safe decisions during prom. They also gave information to students about the risks of teen alcohol use with prom tickets. THY at Hilton Head High made a bulletin board to promote safe and sober driving among their peers.


Hilton Head Christian Academy THY Launches "Healthy Alternatives Booth" During March National Drug and Alcohol Facts Week
Teens for Healthy Youth at Hilton Head Christian Academy set up “Healthy Alternatives Booths” for National Drug and Alcohol Facts Week during school lunches. These booths were manned by HHCA THY members during middle school lunch periods. Members had numbered wheels set up where middle students could spin the wheel to answer a numbered question about the dangers and side effects of drug and alcohol use, along with questions about healthy alternatives to substance abuse. Teens for Healthy Youth in Hilton Head and Bluffton area middle and high schools engaged their peers in Random Acts of Kindness Month. Teens for Healthy Youth Address Stress During Exams and the Holiday Season
Teens for Healthy Youth (THY) groups addressed stress during final exams and the holiday season by educating their peers about healthy ways to manage stress. LCAHY and THY Educate the Community During Town of Bluffton’s Annual Safety Spooktacular Event
The LowCountry Alliance for Healthy Youth (LCAHY) and their youth coalition, Teens for Healthy Youth (THY), educated parents and caregivers about medicine safety and Rx Drop Box locations during the Town of Bluffton’s & Bluffton Police Department’s Safety Spooktacular Event. Teens for Healthy Youth (THY) at Bluffton High School educated the community during October Medicine Abuse Safety Awareness Month during Bluffton and May River High School’s Trunk or Treat event. THY members passed out candy to kids and provided their parents with LCAHY’s Medicine Safety Fact Card. Teens for Healthy Youth Create Awareness for October National Bullying Prevention Month
Teens for Healthy Youth (THY) Created Awareness for October National Bullying Prevention Month in their schools. THY Bluffton High School encouraged their peers to participate in National Unity Day on October 22nd, by having an orange dress-down day and by distributing orange bullying prevention bracelets and pins at the school entrance. Each school club signed an orange flag and placed it at the flagpole in the morning to show that the school is united in stopping bullying.
