LCAHY and THY Educate the Community During Town of Bluffton’s Annual Safety Spooktacular Event
The LowCountry Alliance for Healthy Youth (LCAHY) and their youth coalition, Teens for Healthy Youth (THY), educated parents and caregivers about medicine safety and Rx Drop Box locations during the Town of Bluffton’s & Bluffton Police Department’s Safety Spooktacular Event. LCAHY distributed 500 of LCAHY’s Rx Fact Card with year-round Rx drop off locations and Medicine Safety Tips to parents. THY Educate Community on Medicine Safety During Bluffton & May River High Trunk or Treat
Teens for Healthy Youth (THY) at Bluffton High School educated the community during October Medicine Abuse Safety Awareness Month during Bluffton and May River High School’s Trunk or Treat event. THY members passed out candy to kids and provided their parents with LCAHY’s Medicine Safety Fact Card. THY also gave kids coloring sheets that encourage kids to “Say Boo to Drugs” and pledge “Owl Never Do Drugs”. THY distributed over 50 THY fact cards during the event. THY plan to


Teens for Healthy Youth Create Awareness for October National Bullying Prevention Month
Teens for Healthy Youth (THY) Created Awareness for October National Bullying Prevention Month in their schools. THY Bluffton High School encouraged their peers to participate in National Unity Day on October 22nd, by having an orange dress-down day and by distributing orange bullying prevention bracelets and pins at the school entrance. Each school club signed an orange flag and placed it at the flagpole in the morning to show that the school is united in stopping bullying.

Teens for Healthy Youth Bluffton High, May River High, Cross, and Hilton Head High School Educate Peers During September National Suicide Prevention Awareness Month
Teens for Healthy Youth (THY) at Bluffton High School created an awareness for National Suicide Prevention Awareness Month. They placed magnets with the 988 Suicide Crisis Hotline number on each teacher’s classroom’s door and administrator’s office doors. They also made posters with positive and encouraging messages to support peers who may be struggling with depression, anxiety, or suicidal thoughts.
