LCAHY and THY Educate the Community During Town of Bluffton’s Annual Safety Spooktacular Event
The LowCountry Alliance for Healthy Youth (LCAHY) and their youth coalition, Teens for Healthy Youth (THY), educated parents and caregivers about medicine safety and Rx Drop Box locations during the Town of Bluffton’s & Bluffton Police Department’s Safety Spooktacular Event. LCAHY distributed 500 of LCAHY’s Rx Fact Card with year-round Rx drop off locations and Medicine Safety Tips to parents. LowCountry Alliance for Healthy Youth (LCAHY) Civic Sector CIA and Bluffton Rotary SC member, Cara Vercellone, worked with Bluffton Rotary to post signage to discourage the sale of alcohol to minors during Bluffton’s Seafood, a community festival. Mayor Larry Toomer and Mayor Alan Perry issued a proclamation declaring October National Medicine Abuse Awareness Month in Bluffton and Hilton Head Island during the October Town Council Meetings.
