LowCountry Alliance for Healthy Youth (LCAHY) Program Director and Youth Coordinator presented to 100 Men and 100 Women Hilton Head during their Quarterly Meeting at Sea Pines Country Club. LCAHY was one of three local organizations chosen to present their needs to members of 100 Men and Women of Hilton Head. LCAHY was initially added to One Hundred Men and Women of Hilton Head’s “Charities Under Consideration” by long-time LCAHY board member David Martin, LCAHY’s Business Sector CIA. LCAHY was voted as Charity of the Quarter for its ongoing efforts in preventing youth use of alcohol, marijuana, tobacco/vapes, and prescription medications and its year-round efforts to address related risk factors such as bullying, depression/suicide, stress, and teen dating violence. LCAHY created a video presentation for voting members that could not attend the meeting. To view the video go to LCAHY Video Presentation. LCAHY will receive approximately $15,000 to apply to projects for LCAHY’s youth coalition, Teens for Healthy Youth, LCAHY’s public health awareness campaign, or promotional video. LCAHY will have additional opportunities to be selected to present in the future and remains eligible to receive funds again later. Taking advantage of local opportunities to raise funds is part of LCAHY’s Sustainability Plan.
