The LowCountry Alliance for Healthy Youth (LCAHY) received a grant from the Bluffton Rotary Charitable Giving to support its youth coalition, Teens for Healthy Youth (THY). The grant fund in the amount of $2,500 will be used for printing prevention materials made by Teens for Healthy Youth Members for youth. The posters, fact cards, and THY brochures printed will be shared by Teens for Healthy Youth groups in ten area schools including Bluffton High, May River High, Hilton Head Christian Academy, Hilton Head High, Hilton Head Prep, Bluffton Middle, McCracken Middle, River Ridge Academy, and Hilton Head Middle. The opportunity to apply for the grant was shared by Cara Vercellone, Civic Sector CIA representative on LCAHY’s Community Board. Applying for local grants is part of LCAHY’s sustainability plan. LCAHY plans to apply yearly for this grant opportunity.
LCAHY/THY was one of the 11 non-profits recognized during Bluffton Rotary's Charitable Giving Breakfast. LCAHY’s Youth Coordinator and a Teens for Healthy Youth member thanked Bluffton Rotary for their donation and highlighted how LCAHY will use the funds awarded.
