Teens for Healthy Youth Bluffton High Participate in Random Acts of Kindness Week

Teens for Healthy Youth (THY) Bluffton High School participated in Random Acts of Kindness Week to promote a positive school climate and discourage negative behaviors like bullying and substance abuse.  THY displayed their banner that reads “Make Kindness the Norm Every Day'' to encourage their peers to be kind all year round. THY at Bluffton High School also surprised their peers in front of the school during morning drop-off with pencils that had positive messages and the THY logo. Creating awareness and education about National Campaigns via peer-to-peer education is a strategy in LowCountry Alliance for Healthy Youth’s (LCAHY) 12-Month Action Plan under Strategy 1 Providing Information. THY, LCAHY’s youth coalition, provides peer-to-peer education year-round.

THY members proudly display their THY banner in front of the Bluffton High School for students, teachers, and parents to see during Random Acts of Kindness Week.

Members of THY passed out over 800 pencils with positive messages to their peers.

THY wished their classmates a great day and encouraged them to spread kindness all day.
