Teens for Healthy Youth celebrated Red Ribbon Week to encourage their peers to live drug-free and make positive choices.  The 2025 National Red Ribbon Week Theme is “Life is a Puzzle, Solve It Drug-Free.” To launch Red Ribbon Week THY made large Red Ribbons and a larger banner to display in the atrium to all students during lunch. THY also sponsored a dress down day in which students could wear red to show support for the cause.  THY Bluffton also wrote facts about drugs and alcohol on the sidewalk in front of the school for students to read in the morning. THY Hilton Head Christian Academy gave peers Red Ribbons with candy to create awareness for Red Ribbon Week and made their own pledge that read “Strong Minds and Strong Bodies that all THY members signed. THY May River High School provided an opportunity for their peers to sign the Red Ribbon Week Pledge. The pledges were arranged to spell out, “Say No”.  They also created a bulletin board called “Pills and Potion” to educate their peers on the dangers of teen misuse of prescription medications and alcohol. Providing information on the dangers of drugs and alcohol year-round through peer-to-peer education is an activity in LCAHY’s 12-Month Action Plan Under Strategy 1 Providing Information.
