Teens for Healthy Youth (THY) supported the 2025 Children’s Abuse Prevention Agency (CAPA) Angel Tree Project. The purpose of the CAPA Angel Tree Project is to provide gifts to youth in the local community who have experienced abuse and are in need during the holiday season. THY from Bluffton High School, May River High School, Cross Schools, Hilton Head Island High School, Hilton Head Christian Academy, Bluffton Middle School, McCracken Middle School, and Hilton Head Prep purchased gifts based on the wish lists of ten anonymous youths receiving CAPA services. THY acknowledges that youth experiencing trauma from abuse can lead to substance use, depression, anxiety, and other mental health issues. THY hopes that providing holiday gifts to these individuals, who have experienced adverse childhood experiences (ACEs), will allow them to experience a positive childhood experience (PCEs) of caring and giving. THY is dedicated to fostering positive teen health in their communities through community service, peer-to-peer education, leadership, service, and advocacy.
THY made stockings with personal care products for teens in need that included items such as small deodorants, perfumes or colognes, and dental hygiene products with some holiday candy.
THY members helped to load the CAPA Angel Tree gifts into the CAPA delivery truck.
