THY Provide Prevention Materials to Parents During Math & Literacy Carnival 2024

Teens for Healthy Youth (THY) members at Hilton Head Island High School staffed an informational table at the Hilton Head IB Elementary School’s Math and Literacy Carnival. THY distributed 50 “Talk Early and Often” Fact Cards in English and Spanish, Back to School Stress Fact Card, THY’s Effects of Alcohol and Drugs on Athletic Performance Fact Card, and “Navigating the Teen Years: A Parent’s Handbook for Raising Healthy Teens” booklets to parents who attended the event. They also provided QR codes parents could scan to access additional prevention resources from LCAHY's Website. The event provided an opportunity to provide prevention resources to the community and create awareness of Teens for Healthy Youth. Providing information during school events is an activity in LCAHY’s 12-Month Action Plan Under Strategy 1 of the Seven Strategies of Community Level Change.
