THY Chosen to be Co-Grand Marshal in Bluffton Christmas Parade • 12/06/2019 & 12/07/2019

December 6th and 7th, 2019

Teen for Healthy Youth (THY), the youth coalition of the LowCountry Alliance for Healthy Youth, were chosen by Mayor Sulka and the Town of Bluffton to partner with Peacock Auto Mall to be the Grand Marshals of the Bluffton Christmas Parade. During the Christmas Tree Lighting in Bluffton, Mayor Sulka stated that THY of Bluffton and May River High and the owner of Peacock Auto Mall were chosen for this honor because they partnered with the Town of Bluffton to promote Lutzie43, a campaign that discourages distracted driving. Mayor Sulka stated that the teens have worked endlessly to promote positive teen health in their schools and community. During the parade, the youth passed out Lutzie43 cards to encourage citizens to take 43 seconds to check and eliminate all possible driving distractions. The Town of Bluffton and THY look forward to working on promoting positive teen health throughout the year.
