Hilton Head Christian Academy’s Teens for Healthy Youth hosted the first blood drive at Hilton Head Christian Academy with the support of the American Red Cross. The event took place at Hilton Head Christian Academy’s Performing Arts Center. HHCA THY members encouraged and signed up students and teachers to donate blood. THY members Jill Campanella, Ella Grace Cook, Mary Kathryn Lockhart, and Caroline Thomas volunteered throughout the drive. This event supports THY’s mission of community service. The goal was to collect a total of 23 units of blood and a total of 31 units were collected. Sixty-one percent of these donors were first timers. While it may seem like a small act of kindness, it's a lifesaving act for a patient in need.
