Teens for Healthy Youth (THY) at Hilton Head Preparatory Middle School (HHP) educated their peers on the dangers and risks of vaping by developing a Kahoot game HHP Vape Kahoot. The Kahoot and video The Hit Your Brain Takes were shown during the Advisory Period to all middle schoolers. The video and Kahoot educated students on the myths and facts of vaping.  THY Middle School HHP knows that many youths try vapes for the first time in middle school. They hope to educate their peers on the dangers of vapes to discourage teen use of vapes. They reached about 150 students. This project also created awareness about HHP’s Teens for Healthy Youth Middle School club and peer-to-peer education efforts. Educating on the dangers of vapes through peer-to-peer education is an activity in LCAHY’s 12-Month Action Plan to prevent and reduce e-cigarette use under Strategy 1: Providing Information in the Seven Strategies of Community Level Change.
