The LowCountry Alliance for Healthy Youth (LCAHY) and their youth coalition, Teens for Healthy Youth (THY), educated parents and caregivers about medicine safety and Rx Drop Box locations during the Town of Bluffton’s & Bluffton Police Department’s Safety Spooktacular Event. LCAHY distributed 500 of LCAHY’s Rx Fact Card with year-round Rx drop off locations and Medicine Safety Tips to parents. THY passed-out candy to trick or treaters, face painted children, and distributed a coloring sheet that read “Say Boo to Bullying and Drugs” for Bullying Prevention Month and Red Ribbon Week. Staffing informational tables at community events is an outreach activity in LCAHY’s 12-month Action plan under the Seven Strategies of Community Level Change. LCAHY and THY plan to participate yearly in the Town of Bluffton’s Safety Spooktacular Event.
