LCAHY/THY Suicide Prevention Walk in Bluffton • 11/21/2019

November 10th, 2019

LowCountry Alliance for Healthy Youth (LCAHY) and Teens for Healthy Youth (THY) were invited to staff an informational table at the “Out of the Darkness Suicide Prevention Walk”. LCAHY Board members used this opportunity to educate the community on the coalition and the youth coalition. LCAHY board members distributed information on how to properly dispose of prescription medication and informed people about the new drop box location in Bluffton. The Teens for Healthy Youth members distributed information on teen stress/coping strategies and a fact card on the dangers of vaping. Mayor Sulka attended the event and recognized LCAHY and THY for their dedication to promoting positive lifestyles and positive teen health. LCAHY and THY plan to attend more community events to spread awareness about the missions and visions of the coalition and the youth coalition.
