LCAHY/THY Fundraiser • 8/26/2019

August 26,2019

Teens for Healthy Youth (THY) supported LowCountry Alliance for Healthy Youth (LCAHY) at the Belk Charity Event to raise money for the LCAHY Service Recognition Award. The youth sold $5 coupons to customers and in exchange customers received $5 off their purchase with numerous additional discounts on items across the store. THY is the youth coalition of LCAHY and is dedicated to promoting positive teen health. The LCAHY Service Recognition Award is awarded to seniors of THY that demonstrate service and leadership to LCAHY and THY throughout their high school career. Currently, THY is active at Bluffton High School, May River High School, Hilton Head Christian Academy, Hilton Head Island High School, and Hilton Head Prep. This is the second time LCAHY and THY has participated in this event. LCAHY and THY plan to participate in the next Belk Charity Event to be held in November 2019. LCAHY, a recipient of the Drug Free Communities is in year two of the grant and is working on long term sustainability. This includes taking advantage of opportunities to fundraise in the community such as the Belk Charity Sale Event.
