LCAHY Inducts New Teens for Healthy Youth Members for the 2022-223 School Year
The LowCountry Alliance for Healthy Youth (LCAHY) inducted over 100 new members to its youth coalition, Teens for Healthy Youth (THY) during a ceremony on January 26th, 2023. THY members from Hilton Head High School, Hilton Head Prep, Bluffton High School, Cross Schools, and Hilton Head Christian Academy were recognized for their dedication to promoting positive teen health in their schools and communities. Each THY member in attendance was presented an official certificate of membership by THY Advisor(s). Teens for Healthy Youth Presidents/Co-Presidents from each school took turns presenting their recent accomplishments via a Power Point Presentation for the audience including their parents to view. In addition, Jillian Campanella, LCAHY’s Youth Representative to the Board and a THY member at Hilton Head Christian Academy, gave a positive speech to her peers encouraging them to keep up their efforts. Finally, David Martin, LCAHY Business Sector Representative, gave closing remarks reminding the THY members that the work they to prevent teen substance use is very important.
