LCAHY Board Trained by National Organization
As a recipient of the Drug Free Communities (DFC) Grant, LowCountry Alliance for Healthy Youth sponsored a training required of all grant recipients, with the Bluffton Police Department serving as the host site.
Fifteen LCAHY Board members and ten Teens for Healthy Youth members participated in the one-day training session conducted by a consultant from Community Anti-Drug Coalitions of America (CADCA), a national training organization in Washington DC, which works with DFC Coalitions throughout the United States and internationally. The session educated the attendees on the concrete steps to take as the coalition moves forward on policy goals and provided guidance on sustainability planning for continued coalition success.
Board members (adults and youth) will use the information gained to make decisions regarding public policy development and to develop a plan to ensure the sustainability of the coalition after the DFC grant expires.
