LowCountry Alliance for Healthy Youth (LCAHY) delivered a Drunk, Drugged, and Distracted Driving (3D) Holiday message to the community during the holiday season at Tanger Outlet shopping mall.

The message warned viewers that drinking under age 21, smoking marijuana, using pills without a prescription, and texting while driving is illegal. It encouraged members of the community to be safe by refraining from riding with individuals who are breaking the law. The message was developed by a representative of the youth coalition, Teens for Healthy Youth (THY), and was featured in two local newspapers.

The outcome is that the youth coalition representatives passed out 100 3D Holiday messages attached to candy canes and local newspapers reached an additional 500 community members. Next year, THY will pass out the 3D Holiday message during a local parade to reach as many as 1,000 individuals.

LCAHY is a recipient of the Drug Free Communities Grant.
