Cross THY members held their first project of the '25 - '26 school year called Cross THY Cares - Heads Up, Phones Down! The purpose of the project was to remind parent drivers, student drivers, faculty, and staff of the new South Carolina Law for Hands-Free Driving that went into effect September 1, 2025. THY members wanted to take the opportunity of a captive audience during morning carpool. Colorful posters featuring the Hands-Free Law greeted drivers as they entered the campus. THY members stood throughout the carpool drop-off to pass out stickers and flyers that highlighted the new law. The goal was to not only remind parents, but for them to carry the message into the community through their work and daily activities by wearing their stickers! THY collaborated with the Bluffton Police Department through our SRO Officer, Denise Hendrickson. THY passed-out stickers & flyers to over 150 parents, as well as the upper school student drivers. Posters were displayed in the upper school building hallways to serve as reminders to all students, faculty, and staff.
