Staying Positive and Destressing During COVID-19 • 04/27/2020

April 17th, 2020

Teens for Healthy Youth (THY) are sharing with their peers how they are coping with the challenges of COVID-19 via messaging on social media, such as Instagram and Facebook. THY members realize that teens are experiencing a variety of stressors during social distancing and aim to help their peers find positive ways to deal with the stressors they are experiencing during these uncertain times. They are encouraging their peers to listen to music, do art, exercise, and more. THY knows that the uncertainty of COVID-19 and mental responses to isolation and stress may lead to anxiety, depression, and drug and/or alcohol use. THY will continue to share ways to destress and stay positive during the pandemic. Teens for Healthy Youth is an initiative of the LowCountry Alliance for Healthy Youth. The goal of THY is to promote positive teen health.
